The Ultimate Meat Lovers Breakfast Sandwich
Description
The Ultimate Meat Lovers Breakfast Sandwich brings together several cooked breakfast meats—sausage patties, crispy bacon, and deli ham—with eggs cooked on a griddle either over-easy or beaten before frying. Three slices of toasted bread provide structure, with cheddar cheese melted over the sausage and egg layer. The sandwich is built in two layers, stacking meat and eggs between slices of toast and melting cheese over the layers.
The bread's crispness contrasts with the tender eggs and rich, salty meats. The combination of sausage, bacon, and ham offers varied textures and flavor intensities, while seasoning eggs with salt and pepper adds simple but effective enhancement. This sandwich is filling and suitable for a substantial breakfast or brunch.
Serving immediately is recommended to preserve the textures of toasted bread and warm fillings. Alternatively, the sandwich can be grilled similarly to a grilled cheese after assembly, adding buttery crispness to the exterior. Adding condiments such as hot sauce, bacon jam, or ketchup can introduce additional flavor notes to the sandwich experience.
Ingredients
- 3 lices bread
- 1 large sausage patty (or 2 small)
- 3 lices Bacon
- 2 lices ham deli
- 2 egg
- salt
- black pepper
- 2 lices cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Lay out all ingredients. Heat a large skillet or griddle to 375-degrees. Toast the bread and set aside (no butter necessary, only if desired).
- Spray griddle with cooking spray. Cook the sausage, bacon, and ham on the griddle until cooked through. Set aside.
- Spray griddle with cooking spray again. Cook each egg separately on the griddle to your liking (in the picture here we lightly beat each egg before cooking, in the pictures above, we cooked each one over-easy). Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer one slice of toast, sausage, egg, and one slice of cheese.
- Add second slice of toast, then add egg, ham, cheese, and bacon. Top with last slice of toast.
- Hold sandwich together firmly with one hand and slice sandwich in half, diagonally to make 2 servings. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a different texture, assemble the sandwich and grill it like a grilled cheese with buttered pan over medium-low heat until golden brown.
- Adding condiments like hot sauce, bacon jam, or ketchup enhances flavor according to personal preference.
