The Ultimate Prawn Cocktail
Description
The Ultimate Prawn Cocktail arranges a base of chopped little gem lettuce and diced cucumber in serving glasses, topped with king prawns mixed thoroughly in Marie Rose sauce, which consists of a creamy and tangy blend commonly used in seafood dishes. A pinch of paprika adds a mild smoky note, while slices of avocado offer a creamy contrast. Lemon wedges add brightness and a fresh citrus kick, and finely chopped chives provide a gentle onion flavor.
This classic starter balances cool and crunchy vegetables with tender prawns enveloped in a flavorful sauce. Serving in individual glasses allows a layered presentation where each bite can combine crisp greens, creamy sauce, and juicy seafood.
The dish can be served as an appetizer before a main meal or as a light dish for a lunch or snack. The freshness and mild flavors make it approachable and elegant.
Using high-quality Marie Rose sauce enhances the overall flavor. Optional additions such as diced mango can add sweetness, while fresh herbs like dill can be substituted for chives. This cocktail can also be served in a large lettuce leaf instead of glasses for a more casual presentation.
