Thin Steak In Air Fryer

Thin Steak In Air Fryer cooks thinly sliced steaks seasoned with salt and pepper quickly at 180°C using an air fryer. The steak is cooked on one side then flipped and seasoned again to achieve a medium doneness with a tender texture and lightly browned exterior. This method is efficient and suited for thinner cuts of beef.

Description

This recipe involves seasoning thin steaks generously with salt and pepper before placing them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. The steaks cook at 180°C (360°F) for four minutes per side. After the first four minutes, the steaks are flipped, seasoned again, and cooked for another four minutes. The result is a medium-cooked steak with a browned surface and tender interior due to the short, high-temperature cooking.

The simplicity of seasoning and brief cooking time allows the natural flavor of the steak to stand out. Using an air fryer aids in even cooking while reducing the need for added fat or pan space.

Serving this thin steak pairs well with simple side dishes or as part of a larger meal featuring other vegetables or grains. Adjustments to cooking time may be needed to achieve rare or well-done steaks.

Details note this timing applies to medium sirloin steak thickness and may vary by air fryer brand and model, with the recipe adapted from tests on a Cosori Air Fryer XL.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 230 g steaks half thickness of a regular steak
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place your steak onto a plate or chopping board and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the thin steaks into the air fryer basket, spreading them out side by side. Air fry at 180c/360f for 4 minutes.
  3. When the air fryer beeps, turn the steak over with tongs and then season again and cook at the same time and temperature again.
  4. Then use a spatula to remove them from the air fryer before serving.

Notes

  • Cooking times are based on a medium sirloin steak cut approximately half the thickness of a regular steak.
  • Adjust cook time for desired doneness: less time for rare, more time for medium well or well done.
  • Every air fryer model varies; consider this a guideline and monitor steak doneness accordingly.
  • This recipe was tested using a Cosori Air Fryer XL, so results may differ with other brands.
