Notes

  • How to Serve:
  • Make Ahead Instructions: Make it up to 2 days ahead of time and keep in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week.
  • Freezing Instructions: This sauce isn't recommended to freeze because of the mayonnaise and sour cream. If you need to freeze it, place in a freezer safe bag without the mayonnaise. Let thaw completely, then stir in mayonnaise. Just know, the texture will be a little different.
  • Variations:
  • As Salad Dressing: This dressing goes well with just about any salad recipe!
  • Slather on a Burger: Choose from my traditional juicy hamburger, chicken burger, veggie burger, or a black bean burger.
  • Serve on a Sandwich or Wrap: Such a versatile sauce, it tastes great on so many sandwiches and wraps, Including this classic Chicken Bacon Avocado wrap or Crispy Southwest wrap.
  • As a Dip: Dip veggies, breadsticks, chips, pizza, and anything else you can think of in this delicious thousand island sauce.
  • Russian Dressing: Omit the pickle relish and sugar and add 1 teaspoon Worcestershire, 3 teaspoons horseradish, a dash of sweet paprika.
  • Add Ins: Try adding pimientos or chives.
  • Spicy: Add 1 teaspoon of your favorite hot sauce or cayenne.
  • Vegan Thousand Island: Substitute 3/4 cup vegan mayonnaise in place of mayo and sour cream.
