Thousand Island Dressing
Description
Thousand Island Dressing combines mayonnaise, sugar-free ketchup, and sweet relish or minced sweet pickles to create a creamy base with a balance of sweetness and tang. Apple cider vinegar and finely minced onion add brightness and mild sharpness, while salt adjusts seasoning. Mixing these ingredients thoroughly creates a textured, spreadable dressing.
It can be used immediately but tastes better after chilling at least one to two hours, allowing flavors to meld fully. The dressing is convenient to prepare ahead and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five to seven days, maintaining freshness and thickness.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup ketchup sugar-free
- ¼ cup sweet relish or minced sweet pickles, sugar-free
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons onion finely minced
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix. Taste to see if it needs more salt and serve over a salad!
- While you can certainly use it immediately, the dressing is best after it has chilled in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
- Store in the fridge in an airtight jar for 5-7 days.
