TikTok Cinnamon Roll Recipe

This TikTok Cinnamon Roll Recipe uses refrigerated cinnamon rolls baked in a cream and brown sugar-cinnamon mixture for a moist, rich result. A cream cheese glaze made with butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla adds sweetness and tang. The process transforms store-bought rolls into a gooey, tender dessert with familiar cinnamon-spiced flavor enhanced by nutmeg and a salted cream cheese topping.

Description

The recipe starts by arranging refrigerated cinnamon rolls in a buttered baking dish and pouring heavy cream over them, which helps create a custard-like base. Brown sugar mixed with cinnamon and optional nutmeg is spooned on top before baking covered, allowing the rolls to cook through and soak up sweet, spiced flavors over 30 minutes at 350°F.

Once baked, the rolls are topped with a glaze made by warming butter and cream cheese until smooth, then mixing in powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt for balance. The glaze adds a creamy sweetness contrasting the warm, soft rolls. Serving immediately ensures the rolls are warm and gooey.

The recipe adapts the classic cinnamon roll with an accessible shortcut using refrigerated dough and simple enhancements, producing a dessert suitable for breakfast or a sweet treat. Larger packages of cinnamon rolls can be used to make more servings by adjusting pan size accordingly.

Ingredients

Servings

Cinnamon Rolls:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
  • 2 1.55 ounce cinnamon roll refrigerated; 8 rolls
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted, salted
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg , optional

Cinnamon Roll Glaze:

  • 4 tablespoons butter salted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt coarse

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with shortening. Use a smaller casserole dish if you want taller rolls.
  2. Place unwrap the cinnamon rolls, setting aside the glaze topping for later, and arrange them in a single layer in the prepared pan.
  3. Pour the cream over the tops and around the rolls.
  4. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melted the brown sugar and then whisk in the cinnamon and nutmeg. Spoon over the top of each roll.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes or until the center roll passes the toothpick test.
  6. Remove and allow to cool while you make the topping.
  7. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and cream cheese. Heat in the microwave for 30-40 seconds, or until you can stir it together smoothly. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, additional salt and two reserved glazes. Stir until no streaks remain.
  8. Drizzle over warm rolls. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use larger 5-roll packages (10 rolls total) instead of the smaller 8-roll package; adjust pan size to maintain roll height.
