TikTok Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Description
TikTok Cinnamon Rolls Recipe uses pre-made refrigerated cinnamon roll dough laid out in a pan, covered with heavy cream, a buttery cinnamon-brown sugar blend, and baked under foil for a moist, tender finish. After baking, a cream cheese-based icing blended with the included cinnamon roll icing and powdered sugar is spread over the slightly cooled rolls, creating a smooth, rich topping that melts nicely into the warm rolls. The recipe notes suggest using 3/4 cup heavy cream to maintain proper moisture balance and mention optional additions like nuts or fresh fruits between the rolls for texture and flavor variety. These rolls are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored at room temperature for a few days or frozen for longer preservation, with the option to freeze frosting separately to maintain texture upon reheating.
Ingredients
Cinnamon Rolls
- 2 (17.5-ounce) cans cinnamon roll Grands or similar, refrigerated
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 6 Tablespoons butter melted, salted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Icing
- Icing from above, from cinnamon rolls
- 2 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2 Tablespoons butter softened, salted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with baking spray.
- Open cinnamon roll dough and arrange in the prepared pan, spacing them apart so they have room to rise. Set aside icing.
- Pour heavy cream over and around the cinnamon rolls until it covers the bottom of the pan.
- Combine melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir until combined, then spoon or pour over the cinnamon rolls. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until lightly browned on top and cooked through. You may want to remove the foil during the last 5-10 minutes if they aren't brown enough for you.
- Beat softened cream cheese and butter with a hand mixer until creamy and smooth. Add vanilla extract and the icing from the cinnamon rolls, mixing well. Scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl, then mix in the powdered sugar until combined.
- Let the cinnamon rolls cool for 3-5 minutes before topping them with the prepared icing. Serve warm.
Notes
- Using 3/4 cup heavy cream provides optimal moisture; more cream can make the rolls too wet.
- Extra icing made by combining cream cheese and cinnamon roll icing improves homemade flavor but can be omitted.
- Optional additions such as chopped pecans or fresh fruit between rolls add texture and flavor complexity.
- Store baked rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Baked rolls freeze well for up to 2 months; freeze frosting separately to preserve texture, then thaw and apply upon reheating.
