Tiramisu French Toast

Tiramisu French Toast transforms challah bread soaked in a coffee- and cinnamon-spiced egg mixture into golden slices topped with a sweet mascarpone and honey spread. The combination of rich mascarpone and cocoa powder garnishing echoes classic tiramisu flavors. Served with maple syrup and fresh strawberries, this rendition offers a custardy, creamy breakfast or brunch dish with familiar Italian dessert notes.

Description

Tiramisu French Toast starts by slicing challah bread into thick pieces soaked briefly in an egg mixture flavored with cream, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and instant coffee powder. The bread cooks in butter over medium heat until each side is golden brown, creating a lightly crisp exterior and a tender interior. While warm, each slice is spread with a mixture of mascarpone cheese sweetened with honey and infused with coffee powder, introducing mascarpone’s creamy richness.

Cocoa powder is sprinkled over the top to add a bittersweet chocolate note reminiscent of tiramisu’s cocoa dusting. Served alongside maple syrup and sliced strawberries, the dish combines custardy textures and the aroma of coffee and cinnamon with balanced sweetness and acidity from the fruit. The challah bread's soft crumb helps absorb the flavors and maintain a tender bite.

This approach yields a unique breakfast dish that bridges traditional French toast with tiramisu elements, suitable for serving at a special brunch or dessert-style breakfast.
