Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup pecan halves

Instructions

Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a rimmed large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Spread the pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake for about 6-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The pecans should be lightly browned and fragrant.
  4. Remove from the oven, and let the pecans cool on the baking sheet.
  5. Use as desired.

Stovetop

  1. Add the pecans to a skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pecans are lightly browned and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the skillet from the heat, and let the pecans cool in the pan.
  4. Use as desired.

Notes

  • Pecans: I use unsalted pecan halves.
  • Flavored pecans: To make flavored pecans, simply toss the untoasted pecans with about 1 tablespoon of oil. Then, add desired seasonings, and bake as directed.
