My easy toffee sauce recipe is smooth, rich and indulgent. This golden sauce is perfect for pouring over anything from ice cream to cakes or a slice of pie.

Ingredients
- 300 ml thickened cream heavy cream
- 50 g butter cubed, salted
- 90 g dark brown sugar
- 110 g light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted, stir the mixture to incorporate then continue to simmer over medium-low heat for 2 minutes or until you achieve your desired consistency (see my notes).
- Serve warm.
