Tuna Casserole is a warm baked dish featuring cooked egg noodles mixed with diced onions, frozen peas, shredded cheddar cheese, and canned tuna. The mixture is combined with condensed cream of mushroom soup diluted with milk, which acts as a creamy binder throughout the casserole. Ingredients
- 12 ounces egg noodles
- ¼ cup onion finely diced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 cup peas frozen
- 2 cans tuna drained, (5 ounces each, in water
- 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (10 ounces each)
- ½ cup milk
Crumb Topping
- ½ cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 Tablespoon butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Boil noodles al dente according to package directions. Drain off water.
- While noodles are boiling, in a large bowl combine, onions, peas, soup, milk, cheese and tuna. Mix well. Stir in prepared noodles.
- Spread noodle mixture into the prepared 9x13 inch baking dish
- Combine the topping ingredients in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the casserole.
- Bake in preheated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 18-20 minutes or until bubbly and topping is golden brown.
