Tuna Pasta Salad
Description
The salad is built on al dente small shell pasta, chosen for its bite-size shape that easily holds the dressing. The tuna provides protein, balanced by fresh crunch from chopped celery and onion, and sweetness from peas. The dressing combines mayonnaise and Greek yogurt for creaminess with reduced heaviness, binding the salad components evenly.
Seasoning with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and optional dried dill adds distinct but subtle layers of flavor, complementing the tuna's mildness. The salad is typically chilled before serving, enhancing the melding of flavors and refreshing texture.
This dish is practical for lunches, picnics, or as a side to main dishes. The ingredients are straightforward and common, making it a reliable recipe for those seeking a familiar yet satisfying pasta salad.
