Tuna Salad Cucumber Cups
Description
To prepare, cucumbers are sliced into discs and a small well is scooped from their centers to create natural cups. Tuna is combined with mayonnaise, seasonings like garlic and onion powder, salt, and pepper. Additional vegetables or ingredients such as mustard, Greek yogurt, hummus, or avocado can be mixed in to customize flavor and texture.
The contrast between the cool, crisp crunch of cucumber and the creamy, mildly tangy tuna salad offers a pleasant balance. This recipe is quick to assemble and can be adapted with various garnishes like paprika, chives, microgreens, or cherry tomatoes for visual appeal and flavor. It works well as a light snack, appetizer, or part of a casual meal.
The notes highlight the use of different tuna types, sustainability considerations, and suggestions for additional veggies or alternative binding agents, providing flexibility and adding nutritional variety.
