Turkey Breast with Stuffing
Description
The turkey breast is opened like a book and gently tenderized to about a quarter-inch thickness, then spread with cooked stuffing to create a flavorful interior. Rolling it tightly and securing with cooking twine helps the roll keep its shape during roasting. A butter coating along with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper seasons the exterior, adding flavor and helping brown the surface. Baking at 350°F, with intervals for basting, cooks the turkey evenly to a safe internal temperature of 165°F.
The resulting turkey roll slices nicely and pairs well with gravy, vegetables, or salad, making it appropriate for holiday or special meals. The stuffing inside adds moisture and seasoning to the lean turkey breast.
As noted, turkey breasts often come in packs of two; the recipe suggests you can freeze the second or double stuffing and butter topping when preparing both at once.

- 1/2 cup stuffing cooked
- 2 tablespoons butter , softened
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

- From the long end, roll the turkey breast up tight.
- Using cooking twine, tie it several areas to securely hold it together.
- Slather the top with softened butter, then season with garlic powder, paprika, fine sea salt and ground black pepper.
- Bake for 60-75 minutes, basting every 15-20 minutes with butter and browned bits. The actual cooking time with vary based on the thickness of your turkey roll.
- Bake until the center of the turkey roll registers at 165°F using a digital read thermometer.
- Remove and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the turkey breast slices with gravy, if desired.
