Turkey Burger
Description
The turkey burger recipe calls for mixing ground turkey with soy sauce, Parmesan cheese, and panko breadcrumbs to bind and flavor the patties. Formed into four portions, they grill starting on a cold grill to slowly warm through. This technique prevents drying and promotes even cooking.
Cooking takes about 15 minutes per side, making sure the internal temperature hits 165°F for safety. The soy sauce adds umami and salty depth, while Parmesan enhances savory notes, and panko helps retain moisture and creates a light texture.
Serving on hamburger buns creates a classic burger presentation suitable for grilling occasions or casual meals. The simple ingredient list keeps preparation straightforward.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey $3.64, 85% lean
- 1 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce $0.05
- 3 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese $1.23, shredded
- 3 Tbsp panko breadcrumbs $0.42
- 4 Hamburger Bun $1.81
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, soy sauce, shredded Parmesan, and Panko breadcrumbs, using your hands to mix. Form 4 patties and set aside.
- Preheat the grill to 375°F, but add your turkey burger patties to the grill while it’s still cold. The gradual increase in temperature will make sure the inside of your burger reaches proper doneness (165°F) while the outside has some color and is grilled to perfection!
- Cook for 15 minutes on each side. Your burgers are done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
