Turkey Burger
Description
This turkey burger combines 93% lean ground turkey with beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce or tamari, and a blend of Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to enhance flavor and moisture. The mixture forms patties that hold together well during cooking.
The burgers can be grilled or cooked in a cast iron skillet over medium heat, taking 4 to 7 minutes per side until fully cooked with no pink inside. The result is a tender burger with well-distributed seasoning that benefits from the sauce and herbs without overpowering the turkey’s mild flavor.
Serving the patties on hamburger buns with toppings such as lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, ketchup, and mustard completes the meal. For a low-carb choice, the burger can be served on lettuce leaves or atop a salad. This makes a versatile option for a home-cooked burger that is flavorful but not heavy.
Substituting Worcestershire sauce with soy sauce or tamari is possible if unavailable, maintaining the umami note in the burger.
