Turkey Burger Recipe

This Turkey Burger Recipe combines ground turkey with seasoned bread crumbs, fresh parsley, garlic, and soy sauce to create flavorful patties. The inclusion of garlic salt and black pepper adds a savory touch, while forming an indent in the patties helps maintain an even shape during cooking. Cooking the patties in a skillet until reaching an internal temperature of 165°F ensures they are safe and juicy. These turkey burgers offer a leaner alternative to traditional beef burgers and can be served with buns and toppings of choice for a satisfying meal.

Description

The Turkey Burger Recipe uses 2 pounds of ground turkey mixed with bread crumbs, an egg, and fresh parsley, providing moisture and binding. Garlic and soy sauce enhance the savory flavor, complemented by garlic salt and a substantial amount of black pepper. The preparation involves shaping the mixture into 6-inch patties with an indent to prevent puffing.

They are cooked in a skillet over medium-low heat for 3 to 5 minutes per side until fully cooked through, reaching 165°F internally, preserving moisture within the lean turkey meat. The method focuses on careful heat management to avoid drying out the burgers.

These turkey burgers are a straightforward main dish that can be paired with traditional burger toppings or served alongside salads and vegetables. They present a leaner protein option with familiar burger flavors enhanced by herbs and garlic.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • ¼ cup parsley chopped, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt with parsley flakes
  • ¼ cup black pepper ground

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and mix together.
  2. Divide the meat into 6 portions. Press each portion into a 6 inch round patty (the patties will shrink once cooked).
  3. After you have formed the patties use the back of a spoon and make a slight indent in the middle of each of the patties. This will help keep the patties from puffing up in the middle.
  4. Heat skillet to medium low and cook the patties to an internal temp of 165°F. This will be 3-5 minutes per side.
