Turkey & Cheese Puff Pastry Roll Ups

Turkey & Cheese Puff Pastry Roll Ups use defrosted puff pastry spread with grainy mustard, layered with shredded cheese and sliced deli turkey. The dough is rolled tightly, sliced into individual portions, and chilled before baking to a golden, flaky finish. Garnished with chives, these roll-ups offer a savory, buttery snack or appetizer characterized by crispy pastry and melty cheese.

Description

This recipe features puff pastry as a buttery, flaky dough base rolled with grainy mustard, shredded cheese, and deli turkey slices. Rolling the dough tightly allows for even distribution of ingredients and defined spiral slices once cut. Chilling the cut slices in the freezer firms the dough to help maintain shape during baking.

Baked at 400°F, the roll-ups turn golden brown and crisp on the outside while the cheese melts inside. The grainy mustard adds a tangy bite complementing the savory turkey and cheese filling. After baking, chopped chives provide a fresh herbal note on top.

These roll-ups are versatile as finger food for gatherings or as a quick snack, featuring a balance of flaky pastry, creamy cheese, and deli meat flavors.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 (255g) puff pastry sheet, defrosted
  • 2 tablespoon grainy mustard
  • 3 lices cheese havarti or any type you like, shredded
  • 6 lices deli turkey meat
  • 1 egg lightly beaten, large
  • 1 tablespoon chives chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F/204°C.
  2. On a well-floured surface, roll out the puff pastry dough to about 9" by 12" in diameter.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of grainy mustard over the surface of the dough.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over top.
  5. Layer on the sliced deli turkey meat.
  6. Tightly roll up the puff pastry lengthwise (as if you're making a cinnamon bun).
  7. Using a sharp knife, cut into 12 even portions.
  8. Place the cut side facing up, exposing the turkey and cheese onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Chill the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  10. Brush the tops of the puff pastry with lightly beaten egg (egg wash) and bake at 400°F/204°C for 17-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped chives and serve.
