Turkey Necks Recipe (The Classic Way)
Description
The recipe starts by optionally cutting turkey necks into smaller portions for even cooking. The meat is browned in a lightly oiled skillet along with diced onion to develop flavor. Carrots and bay leaves are added, followed by seasoning with salt and a cup of hot water to provide moisture for baking. Covered and cooked in a 350°F oven for around 1.5 hours, the turkey necks become tender enough to start separating from the bone.
The cooking method infuses the meat with the aroma from vegetables and bay leaves while maintaining moistness. Serving the necks warm alongside potatoes or rice complements the rich flavors and provides a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 4 lb turkey necks
- 3 carrot
- 1 onion
- 4 bay leaf
- salt to taste
- olive oil for frying, light
Instructions
- Optionally, cut turkey necks into smaller pieces.
- Dice the onion into half rings, then clean carrots and cut them into large pieces.
