Turkey Sandwich Crescent Roll recipe

Report
This recipe creates warm crescent roll sandwiches filled with turkey and provolone cheese, brushed with a flavorful butter-mustard-Worcestershire glaze and sprinkled with poppy seeds. The rolls bake until golden and slightly crisp on the outside while the filling remains tender. These handheld sandwiches are suitable for casual meals or appetizers.

Description

The recipe starts by separating crescent roll dough into triangles topped with a halved slice of provolone cheese and folded turkey. Rolling from the wide end creates compact sandwiches. A glaze made from melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce is brushed over the rolls before sprinkling with poppy seeds, adding both moisture and a tangy, savory note.

Baking at a moderate temperature allows the dough to puff and brown evenly, forming a flaky, slightly crisp crust that contrasts with the soft turkey and melted cheese inside. Cooling the rolls briefly helps them set for easier handling.

These crescent roll sandwiches can be customized with ham or roast beef and are convenient warm snacks or party finger foods. Serve fresh from the oven to enjoy the contrast of textures and flavors at their peak.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 package crescent rolls (8 count)
  • 8 lices turkey deli style
  • 4 lices provolone cheese (cut in half)
  • 2 Tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Separate the crescent rolls into their triangles.
  3. Place a half of slice of cheese on each crescent roll triangle.
  4. Then fold a slice of turkey in half and place it at the wide end of the triangle.
  5. Roll up, starting with the widest point and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Mix together the melted butter, dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Brush this mixture onto the top of the crescent rolls and sprinkle the tops with the poppy seeds.
  7. Baked for 9-12 minutes until the crescent rolls begin to brown.
  8. Allow the rolls to cool for approximately 5 minutes on the baking pan. Then move to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute deli ham or roast beef for the turkey for variety.
  • Allow rolls to cool on a wire rack after baking to maintain crispness.
