Turmeric Latte (Vegan version, too)
Description
This Turmeric Latte starts with gently heating almond or another plant-based milk on medium heat until it begins to bubble but does not boil. While the milk warms, turmeric powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a sweetener—honey or agave for a vegan option—are mixed in to infuse the milk with flavor. Half the mixture is poured into cups, while the other half is frothed separately until it doubles in volume, creating a light, airy foam. The froth is then layered atop each cup, and a dash of cinnamon may be added on top for garnish.
The resulting drink combines anti-inflammatory turmeric with warm spices and vanilla, creating a soothing, lightly sweetened beverage with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel from the frothed milk. The gentle heating preserves the delicate flavors without scalding the milk.
This latte can serve as a comforting morning or evening drink, suitable for those avoiding dairy, and offers a mild sweetness balanced by the earthiness of turmeric and spices.
