Vanilla Bean Latte
Description
This recipe involves preparing espresso and combining it with warmed or cold milk and vanilla bean syrup or seeds. Heating the milk gently preserves its creaminess and allows for a frothy texture if desired, while adding syrup or vanilla seeds imparts a genuine vanilla flavor rather than imitation. For a cold version, ice cubes are added to the glass before pouring the milk and espresso, resulting in a smooth chilled latte suited for warmer days.
Stirring the combined ingredients ensures even distribution of vanilla and coffee flavors. This straightforward latte relies on good quality espresso and natural vanilla to achieve a balanced, aromatic coffee treat.
Ingredients
- 4 ounce espresso
- 1-2 tablespoons vanilla bean syrup or fresh vanilla bean seeds and vanilla syrup
- 1 cup milk warm or cold
Instructions
- Prepare your coffee. I use a coffee maker. Heat up your milk if you’d like warm milk. You can heat up the milk in a machine or on the stovetop. You can even microwave the milk if you choose to.
- To a glass or mug, add the vanilla bean syrup. Add ice if you’d like to enjoy it cold. If using real vanilla beans, add it alongside your regular vanilla syrup.
- Add the ice to the glass for an iced latte.
- Pour the milk and coffee into the glass. Stir to combine and enjoy immediately.
