Vanilla Cupcake

These vanilla cupcakes combine self-raising flour, caster sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to create a tender and moist cake. The baking soda helps with leavening alongside the self-raising flour. The batter is scooped into cupcake cases and baked until golden brown, resulting in classic individual-sized cakes ideal for decorating and serving at gatherings or as simple sweet treats.

Description

The Vanilla Cupcake recipe uses equal parts self-raising flour, sugar, and butter, along with eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and baking soda to produce soft cupcakes. The method involves creaming the butter with the dry ingredients until crumbly, then smoothly combining the eggs and liquids to form the batter. Baking in muffin cases at 180°C produces cupcakes with a light golden crust and a soft crumb inside. These cupcakes can be cooled and decorated as desired, making them versatile for celebrations or everyday enjoyment.

The use of self-raising flour and baking soda offers reliable rising, while the vanilla extract provides a subtle added flavor. The recipe yields about 12 cupcakes, suitable for sharing or for small gatherings.
