Vegan Parmesan Cheese

Vegan Parmesan Cheese is a finely ground blend of raw cashew nuts, nutritional yeast, and salt. It offers a powdery texture that mimics traditional Parmesan, providing a slightly salty and cheesy flavor without dairy. This versatile cheese substitute can be sprinkled over pasta, salads, or used in cooking to add a savory boost with a plant-based profile.

Description

Vegan Parmesan Cheese combines raw cashews, nutritional yeast, and salt to create a dairy-free alternative to traditional Parmesan. The cashews contribute a creamy nutty base, while the nutritional yeast adds an umami and cheesy flavor typical of Parmesan cheese. The salt balances and enhances the overall taste. This cheese is processed into a powdery consistency, making it easy to sprinkle over dishes.

The texture is fine and dry, allowing it to serve as an effective topping on pasta, salads, or roasted vegetables. The preparation requires a dry food processor to avoid any moisture that could alter the intended powdery texture. Adjusting salt levels after blending ensures a balanced savory taste.

Stored properly in an airtight jar in the refrigerator, this vegan cheese maintains its quality for up to a month. For longer preservation, freezing is an option, extending usability to six months without significant texture loss. This easy-to-make cheese is a good addition to vegan or dairy-free kitchens seeking a Parmesan-style flavor.
