Vegan Sloppy Joes with Cauliflower
Description
Vegan Sloppy Joes with Cauliflower create a textured, saucy sandwich filling by sautéing garlic, diced green bell pepper, and onion, then adding finely chopped cauliflower resembling ground meat. The mixture is combined with tomato sauce, tomato paste, vegetable broth, coconut sugar, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, chili powder, yellow mustard, and red pepper flakes for seasoning.
The mixture is brought to a boil and then simmered until the liquid reduces and thickens, while maintaining a moist, saucy consistency. This provides a satisfying alternative to traditional sloppy joes with a slightly tangy and mildly spiced tomato base.
The filling is served on gluten-free buns and optionally garnished with chopped parsley and additional diced onion. The recipe is suitable for vegans and gluten-intolerant eaters seeking a plant-based sandwich.
