Veggie Tray
Description
The Veggie Tray arranges several kinds of fresh vegetables, such as red, green, or yellow bell peppers hollowed out to serve as containers for dips or sauces, alongside sticks of celery, baby carrots, broccoli florets, and cherry tomatoes. The hollowed bell peppers add a practical and visually attractive element, offering vessels for dips that complement the crisp raw vegetables surrounding them.
The fresh vegetables provide a variety of flavors and textures, from the crunch of celery to the sweetness of cherry tomatoes. Preparation includes rinsing produce, removing seeds and membranes from peppers, and chopping as needed to create easy-to-eat pieces.
This tray can be served immediately or assembled a day ahead and refrigerated loosely covered. It is flexible for substitution with other vegetables like cauliflower or snap peas and allows for replenishing servings as needed. Using a cookie sheet or any flat tray for presentation works well.
Ingredients
- 3 peppers red, green or yellow
- 1 talk celery
- 1 pound carrot baby
- 1 pound broccoli florets
- 10 ounces cherry tomato
Instructions
- Rinse and prep all veggies.
- Hollow out the bell peppers by cutting the top off of each pepper. Use a spoon to scrape the inside of the peppers to remove the “white” lining as well as the seeds.
- Fill the bell peppers with vegetable dips or sauces of your choice.
- Place the dips on a serving tray or board and arrange the vegetables around them.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and spices.
Notes
- You can prepare this vegetable tray a day ahead and keep it loosely covered in the refrigerator for convenience.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like cauliflower florets, radishes, snap peas, or cucumbers for variety and refilling purposes.
- Arrange dip-filled hollowed bell peppers centrally and place other raw veggies around them for easy serving.
- Use any board or tray available at home; a cookie sheet works well for serving.
