Waffle Recipe

This Waffle Recipe creates golden brown waffles with a crisp exterior and tender interior using all-purpose flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, butter, sugar, and vanilla. The batter is mixed to maintain some lumps for texture and cooked in a preheated waffle iron for about 4 minutes. The waffles are served warm with butter and maple syrup.

Description

The Waffle Recipe uses common baking ingredients to produce classic waffles. Dry ingredients of flour, baking powder, and salt are combined before mixing with beaten eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. The batter is mixed just until incorporated to avoid overworking the gluten. Portioning about half a cup per waffle, the batter cooks in a greased waffle iron until golden and crisp outside while remaining tender inside.

The cooked waffles are traditionally served with butter and maple syrup, making a hearty breakfast or brunch item. The recipe yields waffles that have a balance of sweetness and richness imparted by the sugar and butter in the batter.
