- 2 tablespoon milk
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoon salted butter
For the Waffles

- 1 ½ cups full fat milk
- ¼ cup water
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ cups plain flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
For the Brown Sugar Butter Syrup
- Place the brown sugar, milk, water and butter into a small pan.⅓ cup / 60 g dark brown sugar2 tbsp / 30 ml milk1 tbsp water2 tbsp salted butter
- Place over a low heat and allow the butter and sugar to melt.
- Let the syrup bubble for 5 minutes until thick and gloss. Turn the heat off, but leave in the pan. Set aside.
For the Waffles

- Measure the milk and water out into a jug, add the melted butter and eggs and whisk to combine.1 ½ cups / 350 ml full fat milk¼ cup / 60 ml water2 eggs
- Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt to the milk mixture then whisk until well mixed.1 ½ cups / 230 g plain flour½ cup / 100 g sugar1 tsp baking powder¼ tsp / 0.25 teaspoon salt
- Pre-heat your waffle machine. (see notes)
- Use a ½ cup measure to scoop your batter into each section of the waffle machine.
- Cook for 3 minutes until golden.
- Remove from the machine and place in the oven to keep warm whilst you finish the cooking.
Notes
- I have a Kenwood waffle machine. It doesn't have a variable temperature, just on or off. As all machines are different the cooking time will vary by brand. I would suggest starting with a medium heat and checking the pancakes after 2 minutes.
