This delicious Waldorf chicken salad is a breeze to put together. Packed with juicy chicken, refreshing grapes, and crisp celery and apples, it's a delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors that's sure to please!

Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked chicken Diced
- 1 cup celery Small diced
- 1 cup grapes halved or quartered
- 1 cup apple small diced, Fuji or Gala
- 1/2-1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup toasted walnuts chopped, or pecans, optional
Instructions
Toss the Salad Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, chopped celery, grapes, apples, and walnuts.
Make the Dressing
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and garlic powder. Use closer to ½ cup of mayonnaise for a lighter dressing. If you prefer a creamier salad, feel free to use up to a full cup.
Combine and Serve
- Gently fold the dressing into the chicken mixture until everything is evenly coated. You can enjoy it immediately, or cover and chill it in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Turkey Waldorf: Use cooked and shredded turkey breast instead of chicken for a delicious variation.
- Waldorf with Yogurt: For a tangy, protein-packed twist, swap out the mayo for plain Greek yogurt. Or use half mayo and half yogurt for a lighter, creamy dressing. This will make the salad to not be dairy-free.
- Don't have walnuts? Feel free to experiment with other chopped nuts like pecans or almonds. You can even leave them out entirely for a nut-free version.
- You can customize your salad! Experiment with different fruits like diced pears or cranberries, or add a sprinkle of dried cherries for a touch of sweetness.
- Add onions: I did not add red onions, but they are a great way to add extra crunch to this Waldorf salad.
- Vegetarian Waldorf: Omit the chicken altogether for a vegetarian option. You can add more chopped celery or other vegetables.
