Watergate Salad
Description
Watergate Salad blends freshly whipped cream with instant pistachio pudding mix, undrained crushed pineapple, and mini marshmallows to yield a soft, airy dessert with a rich texture. Whipping heavy cream together with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks hold is crucial to achieve the right body before incorporating the remaining ingredients.
Folding in the dry pudding mix along with the pineapple and marshmallows creates a mixture that balances fruity sweetness, creamy richness, and light chewiness. The salad benefits from chilling to set the mixture and bring the flavors together.
Frozen whipped topping can be used as a convenient alternative to homemade whipped cream, offering a similar texture and taste. This salad stores well refrigerated for a couple of days, making it suitable for advance preparation or leftovers.
Ingredients

- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 /2 teaspoons vanilla

- This salad keeps well in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
