Whipped Goat Cheese
Description
This recipe combines soft goat cheese and cream cheese at room temperature, blended with extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. Adjusting the olive oil ensures the desired consistency. Once whipped, the cheese is transferred to a serving dish and garnished with chopped sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, chopped basil and oregano, and an additional drizzle of olive oil on top.
The resulting dip balances tangy, creamy textures with savory and herbal flavors from the toppings. It pairs well with crackers or bread for dipping. The use of fresh herbs and olives adds a Mediterranean character to the cheese spread.
The dip can be prepared up to three days in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator, with a recommendation to bring it to room temperature before serving to restore its soft and spreadable texture. This makes it convenient for planning ahead for gatherings or as a flavorful appetizer.
