Whipped Hot Chocolate
Description
The recipe involves whipping cold heavy cream with hot chocolate mix and powdered sugar until soft peaks form, yielding a light and airy chocolate-flavored topping. Warm milk is then poured into a glass, and the whipped chocolate cream is piped or spooned on top. Optional toppings such as mini marshmallows or chocolate chips enhance the experience. For an iced version, the milk is poured over ice before adding the whipped cream.
The whipped mixture provides a creamy, foamy element that melts into the warm or cold milk to create a smooth, indulgent hot chocolate drink. The layering of textures and the distribution of chocolate flavor makes it more complex than simply mixing cocoa powder into milk.
Alternative milks like coconut, almond, or oat can be used in place of dairy milk, and whipped coconut milk can replace the whipped cream for dairy-free options. Using chocolate milk instead of plain milk intensifies the chocolate experience. This recipe suits those looking for a comforting chocolate drink with a light whipped topping that can be customized to taste.

- Warm the milk in the microwave until hot. (Warm works fine for kids.) Add 1/2 cup of milk to each glass.
- Place the whipped cream into a piping bag or strong zip-top style bag. Snip the corner of the bag with scissors and pipe a swirl over the warmed milk. Add mini marshmallows, chocolate bits or any other of your favorite toppings and enjoy!
