White Chocolate Liqueur
Description
This White Chocolate Liqueur blends couverture white chocolate with full-fat milk (or evaporated milk for extra creaminess), condensed milk, and Madagascar bourbon vanilla, melted gently together to avoid curdling or burning. Once melted and cooled, it is mixed with vodka to create a smooth, sweet, and creamy liqueur.
The liqueur showcases a velvety texture and rich, sweet flavor from the white chocolate and condensed milk. Letting it rest refrigerated for 12 to 24 hours allows flavors to meld fully and prevents any separation before serving.
Serve the liqueur neat or use it as a mixer in cocktails. Its sweet, creamy profile lends itself well to dessert drinks or as a gentle after-dinner treat.
To prevent chocolate solidification or curdling in the fridge, use good quality vodka (like Smirnoff, Grey Goose, or Absolut) and fresh milk or cream. Straining the liqueur through cheesecloth before bottling can improve smoothness.
Ingredients
- 57 g white chocolate 2 oz in weight, couverture
- ¼ cup milk Full fat. To make this extra creamy, use evaporated milk instead.
- ½ cup condensed milk
- 2 tsp vanilla Madagascar bourbon variety
- 1 cup vodka good quality
Instructions
- Place the white chocolate, condensed milk, milk and vanilla in a saucepan. Heat gently while stirring to melt the chocolate. Do not let it boil.
- As soon as the chocolate is completely melted, remove the white chocolate mix from the heat. Let it completely cool down to room temperature.
- Mix with the vodka and place it in a sealable container. Let the liqueur sit for 12 - 24 hours (preferably in the refrigerator) before using. Place the liqueur in a bottle OR (optional) strain the liqueur through a double cheesecloth or a nut milk bag into a bottle.
- Drink neat, or as a mixer in cocktails. Enjoy!
Notes
- Using condensed milk prevents chocolate solidification when refrigerated.
- Choose high-quality vodka and fresh milk or cream to avoid curdling in the liqueur.
- Recommended vodka brands include Smirnoff, Grey Goose, and Absolut for better consistency.
- Optional straining through cheesecloth improves texture before bottling.
