White Christmas Sangria
Description
This sangria recipe starts by combining a bottle of white wine, typically pinot grigio, with an equal amount of sparkling white grape juice or sparkling apple cider to provide sweetness and fizz. Whole and halved cranberries, seedless halved green grapes, and chopped Granny Smith apples are added for fresh fruit textures and flavors. Rosemary sprigs contribute a piney herbal aroma that complements the fruit.
The mixture chills for at least four hours to meld flavors and chill thoroughly. Before serving, glasses are rimmed with light corn syrup and dipped in coconut flakes for a sweet and textured edge. The sangria is poured into the glasses including fruit pieces, garnished with rosemary, and topped with club soda for added effervescence.
This beverage serves four to six people and can be easily scaled for larger groups. It offers a festive and visually appealing drink suitable for winter holidays or gatherings where a light, fruity cocktail is desired. The combination of sparkling juice and wine keeps it balanced between dry and sweet.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the wine with another bottle of sparkling grape juice or sparkling apple cider to maintain flavor and sparkle without alcohol.
