White wine garlic mussels
Description
This recipe uses whole mussels thoroughly cleaned before cooking. Butter is melted in a deep pan to sauté thinly sliced garlic and finely chopped red chili, releasing their aroma in just seconds. White wine and fresh lemon juice are added before simmering, creating a vibrant broth.
The mussels are added, covered, and steamed until they fully open—about five minutes. Any unopened mussels should be discarded for safety. Chopped parsley and seasoning with salt and pepper finish the dish, adding fresh herbaceous notes and balanced flavor.
Best served immediately with crusty bread, this preparation highlights the natural briny sweetness of mussels complemented by the buttery, garlicky, and slightly spicy broth. The simple method retains the mussels’ freshness and tender texture.
