Whole Wheat Chocolate Waffles
Description
Whole Wheat Chocolate Waffles bring together whole wheat pastry flour and almond meal with cocoa powder and light brown sugar to create a chocolate-flavored waffle with wholesome texture. The batter is moistened with milk, eggs, canola oil, and vanilla extract, then cooked in a preheated and lightly greased waffle iron. Cooking for 1-2 minutes per waffle helps achieve a balance between a crisp outer edge and a soft inside. Serving these waffles with fresh fruit and whipped cream adds a fresh and creamy element, complementing the chocolaty, nutty flavor and hearty texture of the waffles.
The inclusion of almond meal contributes a subtle nuttiness and a slightly denser texture compared to standard all-purpose flour waffles. The light brown sugar lends a mild caramel sweetness while the cocoa powder intensifies the chocolate flavor without overwhelming the natural grain taste. Overall, these waffles offer a satisfying breakfast option that balances flavor and texture well.
