Whole30 French Fries (Oven or Air Fryer)

These Whole30 French Fries are made from thinly sliced russet potatoes seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. They can be cooked either in the oven or air fryer until crispy outside and tender inside. The recipe focuses on slicing the fries evenly to ensure uniform cooking and offers options for slight seasoning variations. This method allows making a simple, homemade side dish with a classic fry texture without deep frying.

Description

Get the Recipe: Whole30 French Fries (Oven or Air Fryer) features russet potatoes sliced about 1/4 inch thick, tossed with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. The potatoes are arranged in a single layer without overlapping to promote even cooking. In the air fryer, they're cooked at 390°F for 18 to 20 minutes; in the oven, at 400°F for about 40 minutes, flipping halfway. The result is fries that are crisp on the outside and tender inside, perfect as a side or snack.

The recipe allows variations with seasoning such as garlic powder, paprika, or onion powder. Olive oil may be substituted by avocado or refined coconut oil. Checking for fork tenderness ensures they are cooked through without being dry. The method balances crispness with softness by controlling thickness and cook time.

Serve these fries hot with your preferred sauces. They keep refrigerated for up to 3 days and can be reheated in the air fryer or oven to regain crispness. Consistent slice thickness and spreading fries in a single layer are key steps to a good texture.
