Winter Salad
Description
Winter Salad brings together tender mixed greens and sweet pears with pecan halves for crunch and dried cranberries for a burst of tartness. The addition of crumbled blue cheese on top lends a creamy, slightly sharp contrast. The salad is dressed with a vinaigrette made from white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and a touch of salt and optional sugar, which balances acidity and sweetness. The preparation involves tossing the fruit and greens with the vinaigrette before adding the cheese, creating layers of texture and flavor. This salad complements winter meals with its fresh components and can serve as an accompaniment to roasted meats or hearty grains.
