10 Minute Berry Tiramisu
Description
The dessert begins by making a berry syrup from water, sugar, and fresh mixed berries simmered then strained to capture the fruit flavor. Adding creme de cassis enhances the syrup but is optional. Ladyfingers are quickly dipped into this syrup to absorb flavor without becoming soggy, then layered in a dish. A whipped cream base is prepared by whipping heavy cream with sugar and vanilla to soft peaks, then folding in mascarpone cheese to form a rich, creamy filling.
Layers of soaked ladyfingers alternate with syrup-soaked berries and mascarpone cream, repeated to fill the dish. The tiramisu is finished with a dusting of powdered sugar and garnished with slivered toasted almonds and extra fresh berries to add crunch and freshness. The dessert balances the sweetness and slight acidity of the berries with creamy textures and delicate sponge layers.
Because the ladyfingers are soaked briefly, the tiramisu is best served soon after assembly to maintain its texture. The recipe scales for an 8×8 inch dish and uses common fresh berries. The simple method allows making a fruit-flavored twist on the classic tiramisu in just 10 minutes.
