Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13” baking pan with parchment paper
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the egg yolks and vanilla extract into the mixture, ensuring they're thoroughly blended.
  4. Fold in the baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well distributed.
  5. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the mixture, stirring until there are no more streaks of flour in your batter
  6. Gently fold in 1 1/4 cups of the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking pan, spreading it out to create an even layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips over the top of the dough.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  10. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares or rectangles.
  11. For an extra burst of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of flakey sea salt before serving.
