7 Layer Dip

7 Layer Dip assembles creamy refried beans with sour cream mixed with hot sauce, followed by guacamole and more sour cream layers. It is topped with shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, black olives, green onions, and fresh cilantro, creating a colorful and textural combination. The dip layers offer a range of smooth, tangy, and fresh flavors ideal for serving as an appetizer with chips or vegetables.

Description

7 Layer Dip combines refried beans blended with sour cream and hot sauce as the base, then layered in a casserole dish with guacamole and an additional layer of sour cream. The surface is decorated with shredded cheddar cheese, diced Roma tomatoes, sliced black olives, thinly sliced green onions, and chopped fresh cilantro. The dip layers remain distinct, allowing varied textures from creamy to crisp throughout.

The dipping layers balance cool creaminess from the sour cream and guacamole with the earthiness of beans and sharpness from cheddar cheese. Fresh tomato and olive pieces add contrast, while green onions and cilantro provide a herbaceous finishing touch. This dip is well suited for social gatherings or game-day snacking.

When preparing, spread the layers evenly to maintain visual appeal and easy scooping. It can be prepared ahead and refrigerated to allow flavors to meld before serving with tortilla chips or cut vegetables.
