Air Fryer Bone In Pork Chops
Description
The Air Fryer Bone In Pork Chops recipe features thick, bone-in pork chops seasoned with paprika, salt, black pepper, ground mustard, onion powder, and garlic powder. The chops are rubbed with olive oil to help the spices adhere and to promote browning. Cooking in the air fryer at 400°F uses hot circulating air to evenly cook the chops without flipping, provided the air circulation reaches underneath. The complete cook results in chops that should have an internal temperature of 145°F to ensure safety and juiciness. A resting period of several minutes allows juices to redistribute. This method avoids traditional pan frying or oven baking, offering a potentially quicker clean-up and crisp texture with a tender interior. The recipe suggests using a meat thermometer for accuracy and refrigerating leftovers tightly covered for up to a week.
Ingredients
- 3 pork chops approximately 1 1/2-2 inches thick, bone-in
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F. If your air fryer does not have a preheat option, then run the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes to warm up the air fryer.
- Stir all the seasonings together in a small bowl.
- Then coat the pork chops with the olive oil and then rub the seasoning mixture into both sides of the pork chops. Use all of the rub for the pork chops.
- Place the pork chops in the air fryer and make sure that they are not overlapping (you may have to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer). Cook for 10-12 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F.
- Let the pork rest for 3-5 minutes and then serve.
Notes
- If air circulation beneath the chops is limited, flip them halfway through cooking for even browning.
- Use a digital meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 145°F for perfect doneness.
- Store leftover pork chops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.
