Air Fryer Dry Rub Chicken Wings
Description
This chicken wings recipe uses a dry rub combining paprika, white sugar, basil, oregano, garlic, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to impart layered spice and aroma. The wings, fresh or thawed from frozen, are coated thoroughly in the spice mixture and allowed to marinate for 30 to 45 minutes to let flavors absorb.
Air frying the wings at 400 degrees Fahrenheit crisps the skin while keeping the meat juicy, cooking them for about 12 minutes and flipping halfway through for even browning. This cooking method produces a textured and richly flavored wing without oil immersion.
The spiced dry rub blends savory, herbal, and mildly spicy notes, well suited as a casual finger food or game day snack. The process is straightforward and hands-off once the wings are in the air fryer.
