Air Fryer French Toast

This Air Fryer French Toast uses thick Texas toast bread dipped in beaten eggs to produce a crispy exterior and a soft, tender center. Cooking in the air fryer at moderate temperature allows even browning on both sides without excess oil. Serving with butter, syrup, and fresh berries rounds out the breakfast experience.

Description

Air Fryer French Toast begins by trimming crusts from thick Texas toast slices, which ensures even egg coating. The slices are dipped in beaten eggs to cover all sides without soaking through. Placing the bread on oiled parchment paper helps prevent sticking when cooked in the air fryer.

The toast cooks at 350°F for 5 minutes on one side, then flipped for another 5 minutes, resulting in a browned, crisp surface and a moist interior. This method produces a crunchy outside texture distinct from pan-fried versions while maintaining classic softness inside.

Serving the French toast with butter, syrup, and fresh fruit such as strawberries and black raspberries adds complementary sweetness and freshness.

Adjust cooking times based on air fryer model variations and use regular bread doubled up if Texas toast is unavailable. Avoid oversoaking the bread in egg to prevent sogginess.

  • Trim bread edges so egg coats evenly and does not pool excessively.
  • Dip bread fully but avoid over-soaking to maintain texture during cooking.
  • Adjust air fryer cooking times between 3–5 minutes per side depending on your model.
  • Serve with butter, syrup, and fresh berries to balance the crispy-soft texture.
