Instructions

  1. Pre-heat air fryer at 190°C for 5 min. Peel off the bananas and slice them horizontally or vertically as you like.
  2. In a bowl, add sliced bananas, sprinkle cocoa powder, cinnamon powder and maple syrup. If you are using sugar for caramelizing, add it here. Place bananas in the air fryer basket at gaps and air fry at 190°C for 10 min or till they are browned.Pls note the bananas would be sticky and you may either place the parchment paper in the basket or brush the basket with little oil.
  3. Serve the warm air fried bananas with vanilla ice cream or spread them over a peanut butter toast and Enjoy this simple dessert!

Notes

  • Choose ripe, yellow bananas that are firm. Ripe bananas are sweeter and softer, making them ideal for air frying. Overripe bananas are not recommended as they would be very mushy.
  • To ensure uniform cooking, slice the bananas into even pieces, about ½ to ¾ inch thick.
  • While air frying uses less oil than traditional frying, lightly spraying or brushing the banana slices with oil will help them crisp up and prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap.
  • For easier cleanup and to prevent sticking, consider placing a piece of parchment paper at the bottom of the air fryer basket before adding the banana slices. Adding a layer of parchment would make bananas a bit less crispy than without it.
