Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup fresh cherries , pitted and chopped
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a 12 cup muffin tin with muffin liners.
- In a large bowl add the vegetable oil, sour cream, sugar, egg, whole milk, and almond extract and whisk until fully combined.
- Into a second bowl sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and whisk until just combined.
- Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until just combined.
- Stir in fresh cherries and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
- Using a 1/4 cup ice cream scoop, scoop the batter into each liner.
- Top with 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and sliced almonds.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
