Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Apple Cider Vinaigrette combines apple cider vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, and honey for a balanced dressing with tangy sweetness and mild warmth from brown mustard and garlic. This vinaigrette emulsifies well and suits salads needing a bright, slightly sweet citrus punch.

Description

This vinaigrette recipe blends extra-virgin olive oil with apple cider vinegar and lemon juice to deliver a bright and tangy base. Brown mustard adds a subtle spiciness and helps emulsify the dressing, while minced garlic lends depth. Honey balances acidity with sweetness, and salt and pepper season the dressing.

Whisking or shaking the ingredients together creates a uniform mixture that can be adjusted for taste by adding more honey for sweetness or vinegar and mustard for tang and kick. The dressing stores in the fridge for up to five days, though it may thicken; warming slightly or shaking can restore its consistency.

With just about one cup of dressing, this recipe yields roughly 2 tablespoons per serving, making it suitable for light to moderate salad dressings. The fresh citrus and apple cider flavors create a versatile vinaigrette that pairs well with leafy greens and various vegetables.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown mustard spicy
  • 1 garlic minced, clove
  • 2 tablespoons honey , or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, mustard, garlic, honey, salt and pepper to a glass jar with a lid. Whisk well to combine, or secure a lid on the jar and shake well.
  2. Taste the dressing and make any adjustments you like, such as adding a little more honey for sweetness, or a little more mustard or vinegar to make it taste more tangy. Serve right away, or store it in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  3. Leftover dressing may thicken in the fridge. You can run the jar under warm tap water to help it thin out again, or let it sit on the counter at room temperature until it's runny in consistency.

Notes

  • This recipe yields approximately 1 cup of vinaigrette, about 2 tablespoons serving size.
