Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread Recipe
Description
The Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread recipe blends rolled oats with all-purpose flour, sugar, and spices like cinnamon to form the dry base. The wet ingredients include milk, applesauce, vanilla extract, eggs, and oil, which provide moisture and richness. Fresh peeled and diced apples are folded into the batter, adding natural sweetness and tenderness. Baking in a loaf pan produces a golden crust and a moist interior dotted with apple pieces and textured oats.
This bread offers a soft crumb, punctuated by bursts of sweet apple and warm spice. It's suitable for breakfast, snacks, or alongside tea or coffee. Serving it sliced allows enjoying the balance of sweetness and cinnamon flavor with a tender, hearty texture.
Careful mixing avoids overworking the batter, preserving the bread's lightness while ensuring even distribution of ingredients. Baking until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs ensures doneness without dryness.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats quick cooking
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 1/4 cups milk or whatever milk you like, skim
- ½ cup applesauce
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 egg large
- 2 tbsp. canola oil or your preferred cooking oil
- 2 apple peeled and diced, medium
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9x5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, add the oats, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
- In a medium bowl, add the milk, apple sauce, vanilla, eggs and oil. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients and the apples to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined and all of the flour is moistened. Do not over mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 55-65 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center of the bread should come out with moist crumbs, but no raw batter. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Then, remove the bread from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.
