Asian Turkey Meatballs with Lime Sesame Dipping Sauce
Description
Ground turkey is blended gently with panko crumbs, egg, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, scallions, cilantro, and salt, forming moist meatballs with vibrant Asian-inspired flavors. The mixture is shaped into fairly large meatballs and baked at a high temperature until cooked through and browned on the outside, providing a slightly crispy texture that contrasts with the tender interior.
The lime sesame dipping sauce brings tangy brightness and nuttiness through lime juice, reduced-sodium soy sauce, water, and sesame oil, mixed and garnished with fresh scallions. This sauce can be drizzled over the meatballs or served on the side for dipping, balancing the savory richness with acidic and aromatic notes.
This recipe suits small gatherings or as a main dish accompanied by rice or steamed vegetables. Baking meatballs rather than frying reduces extra oil, and the fresh herbs ensure a lively flavor profile. The combination of citrus, cilantro, and sesame creates a nuanced taste distinctive from more common meatball recipes.
