There are so many Guacamole recipes out there, but an authentic guacamole recipe is priceless! Simple, fresh tasting and luscious!

  • 4 ripe avocado Hass variety
  • 2 large scallions minced (white and greens)
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro about 1 cup) washed, fresh
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or to your taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil ( optional)

  • TIPS FOR GUACAMOLE RECIPE
  • The flavor of avocados will depend on the type of avocado you start with. A Hass avocado has more flavor than Florida avocado.
  • The texture of the guacamole is completely your choice.
  • This recipe demonstrates a smooth luscious style guacamole in the food processor.
  • However you can make a chunky guacamole by using a mortar and pestle or mashing the avocado with a fork.
  • For the food processor, make sure that you process all ingredients except the avocados first. That way you don’t end up with over processed guacamole.
  • Make the authentic guacamole recipe to start with using those basic ingredients and then think of add-ons.
  • Don’t add watery ingredients such as tomatoes to the guacamole, except during serving. Add only the amount you’ll need to avoid leftovers.
  • Serve the guacamole with the toppings you prefer (toppings are better than blending everything in).
  • Store leftover guacamole in an airtight container with a layer of water or lemon juice or olive oil covering the entire top.
